A small studio, building properly
divyasthan is new. There is no heritage story here and no workshop that has been going for three generations.
I started this because I went looking for a mandir for my own home and could not find one I wanted to live with. Everything was either a carved box with a plastic light glued inside it, or a marketplace listing with eleven keywords in the title and one photograph taken on a phone.
So the first one was made for me, and the ones after that were made for people who saw it. That is still how this works. Every mandir is made one at a time, to order, by a small team, and I know which one is being built at any given moment.
It means we are slower than a warehouse. It also means nothing leaves here that I would not put on my own wall, and while we are this size, that is a promise I can actually keep.
What we will not do
- Quote a delivery date we are not confident about.
- Take an order for a gift when the lead time will not make the occasion.
- Use veneer, plated metal or a plastic light and call it teak and brass.
- Invent reviews, counters or a discount that was never a discount.
